Background: Ironic was hired to provide weather consultancy for an executive lunch event at the Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat, A Four Seasons Hotel. The event was to be held outside pool side at the hotel. The concern was two forecasted storms that were to be passing over the venue during the load-in and the morning of the event.
Ironic's team utilized its expertise in weather forecasting, risk management and emergency planning to ensure that all guests were able to enjoy the event and were safe throughout.
Challenge: The main challenge in this case was to manage the schedule of the load in and the event day around the severe rain and storms that were forecasted to pass over the venue. The event team had to ensure that the severe rain and storms would not disrupt the event and that the guests would be safe during the event.
Solution: To address this challenge, Ironic worked closely with the event team to manage the schedule of the load in to allow for them to work around the severe rain and storms. Ironic also helped the event team to adjust the event staff appropriately to create a schedule that would take the storms into consideration.
During the morning of the event, there was a severe storm that included lighting which resulted in the events team having to shelter in place until after the storm was out of the 8 miles ring for more than 30 minutes. This then followed by a successful event with no severe weather issues.
Our goal was to ensure that the executive lunch event at the Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat, would proceed as planned despite the forecasted storms and rain. We take pride in our ability to manage the schedule of the load in and the event day around the severe weather and provide guidance on how to adjust the event staff appropriately to create a perfect event.
